Party Eyes!

Here are all of the products that you need to create the best party eyes!! By party eyes I mean big, bold, and smokey.... enjoy!
I always start by putting my foundation on all over my face and I leave it to dry for about 5 minutes before starting my eyes. I find that having foundation on the eye lids acts as a great base for when you apply eye shadow.

1. I start by applying "Boiing" by Benefit. I apply a tiny little smudge under each eye to get rid of any sleepy bags that might be lingering under there! This is also great to use as a concealer for any other areas on the face.

2. Next, I use an eye shadow brush and apply the base colour, taking the brush all the way from one side of the eye lid to another, so that it covers the entire eye lid. I use either the greeny shimmery colour on the top left hand side of the palette, or the more natural beigey matte colour on the bottom right of the palette. I use the green when I'm wearing something quite plain and simple so that the colour stands out a bit more, but if you are wearing something colourful then I would go for the more natural colours. All of these eye shadows are from MAC - sorry about the mucky palette! MAC are really good when it comes to variety, and there are LOADS of different colours for you to choose from, so if your not keen on the ones below then don't worry.. there are many more for you to purchase!

3. Once my base colour is applied, I apply gel eye liner, also from MAC (I use the colour Blacktrack). You can buy little brushes that are used especially for gel eye liner from pretty much every make-up store and also from places such as Boots or Superdrug. I would recommend buying one from somewhere like MAC or Bobbi Brown though, just because they are really great quality and last forever!

You only need to put a small amount on the tip of the brush, and carefully apply a thin (can be as thin or thick as you wish) line from the corner of your eye right across to the other side. If you follow the part of your eye lid just where your eyelashes start you should get the perfect line (if you're a bit confused just YouTube a tutorial on how to apply gel eye liner). I always extend the line so it "flicks" out at the end - this is a great way to make your eyes look a little bigger than they are already.

I always choose to use gel eye liner over a liquid one, because I find it a lot easier to put on and you can create a smokier effect... I also find that liquid eye liner can sometimes be quite shiny, where as gel is normally matte.

4. Once the gel eye liner is applied, I then apply a dark brown (you can go for black/dark grey if you would prefer) eye shadow. For this I use the dark brown shadow that comes in Benefit's "Big Beautiful Eyes... an eye contour kit" palette (on the far right of the photo). I only apply this on the edge of each eye. If you go up to the top of this post where the four photos of my eyes are, look at the one second from the bottom - you can see just a small amount of darker colour on the far side of the eye lid, just above where the eye liner flicks out. I also apply a very thin line of the darker shadow across the top of the eye lid (you can also see this in the same picture). This just adds to the smokey and bold effect.

By this point you might have a bit of eye shadow flying around under your eye! If you do, just take a face wipe or wet a cotton bud and wipe it away, and if you think it is necessary just apply a bit of foundation over the top of where you have just rubbed off.

5. Now it's time for mascara! I use two different mascara's with one another when I go out. I NEVER wear fake eyelashes because of the simple fact that they annoy me and always bother me, and also with the mascara's that I use I don't need to even consider fake lashes because they're incredibly good! So, the first mascara I apply is "Haute and Naughty Lash" by MAC:

As you can see from the image above, there are two compartments to this mascara, in other words... there are two brushes in one mascara tube! I always use the bottom compartment (the one in the purple pretty glittery tube), it's a bit thicker and you can get a lot of volume from it. I use the pink compartment for day time as its a little finer. Once I have applied a sufficient amount (I wear quite a lot... maybe more than others... but I'm not afraid to say it!) I then apply "They're real..." by Benefit:

I only apply a very small amount, but that's all you need when you put it on top of the MAC mascara. The way that the brush is shaped (as you can see in the image above) really gets every single lash and tidies everything up, and the bit at the top is designed so that you can turn the brush vertically and get those stubborn lashes at the corners of your eyes that are always a pain to get.

6. Last but not least, I fill in the inner bottom part of the eye with MAC Eye Kohl pencil eye liner. This just gives your eye that finishing touch! As with everything MAC, there is a huge variety of different colours you can choose from but I go for the standard black.
